Your Local Lib Dem councillors at a meeting with Post Office leaders will be asking what Wycombe District and Bucks County Councils what can do to step in and look to protect our valuable Post office services.
Foward thinking councils are stepping in and investing in local communities to protect the existing post offices — we will be asking our Tory controlled councils to do likewise !!

I had known Marie for some 15 years, and always enjoyed her company. She had an infectious enthusiasm for life, and for everything she did. Even in her declining years, when lack of mobility often impeded her direct involvement, she found ways to continue to engage in active politics, and her cheerful optimism never relented.

She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

We now have an even stronger team covering the east end of the Town.

Steve, I agree with you, we are (have already?)walking into a surveillance society but I’m afraid the Lib Dems are bad as the other parties. For example, Lib Dem councils use CCTV to monitor and fine people just as Labour or Tory ones do for smallest of misdemeanours. And whilst I applaud your stance against ID Cards, the Lib Dems want a national road pricing scheme, this can only work via satelite tracking or ANPR roadside cameras, both of which means the state knowing where you are at all times, which I find abhorrent.

Welcome to our new councillor and member!

I can attest to Julia’s campaiging expertise, since she was instrumental in the success of the campaign to save Micklefield Library, and freely gave of her time to advise the West Wycombe Library Action Group in the early days of our own campaign to save the village library.

I am delighted to welcome someone with a long pedigree in green politics, too. I remember Julia when she was a member of the Green Party. I joined the Liberal Party in 1977 precisely because it was the only significant political party espousing an environmental agenda. It is good to see that Julia has finally recognised that the Liberal Democrats offer the most effective way of putting environmental policies into effect. i can only wonder that she managed to reconcile membership of the Labour Party with her own political philosophy for so long!

I believe Mr Laker also knows about changing parties. Why not come back to the Liberal Democrats? Their policies have a green integrity throughout, and if any have not, it is up to members to argue their case at the Party Conference.
