Thank you to everyone who supported the Liberal Democrats in the Wycombe District Council Elections.
In Wycombe Constituency we lost 2 and gained 3 so considering the national picture we did ok.
In Booker we gained a seat from the Conservatives who slipped to bottom of the poll as their vote was decimated because of their plan to build upon Green Belt Land. Congratulations to our candidate Simon Parker who has led the opposition to these plans.
In Micklefield we gained 2 seats, one from Labour and one from the Conservatives. This was a fantastic victory for the Micklefield community who came out to support two strong community activists. Well done to Matt Knight and Paula Lee.
We held our seats in Bowerdean ward & Ryemead ward. Congratulations to Chaudary Ditta, Julia Wassell, Ray Farmer & Trevor Snaith.
As the Official Opposition to the Conservatives locally we will continue to stand up for our local communities and put local residents first.
Labour managed to pick up a few Councillors by running a dishonest and cynical campaign, pretending to voters that they wouldn’t be making any cuts if they were still in government. None of their leaflets outlined any plans to improve our District so I’ve no idea what they can constructively bring to the Council Chamber.
The full election results can be found here.
Next elections are the County Council Elections in 2013 so if you are interested in becoming a Councillor then please get in touch.
Thank you again for all your support.

That was a sensational victory for Paula and Matt in Micklefield. As one of the County Councillors for the area, I am enthused by the new opportunities to enhance services and the environment in Micklefield. With four Liberal Democrats representing the area, I think we will be able to make a real impact with an activist team.
I wish Paula and Matt every success in the next 4 years, Julia
