Comedian and keen swimmer David Walliams has applauded the free swimming scheme for those under 16 or over 60.
Sadly, no-one in Wycombe District will benefit. This is because Wycombe District Council decided not to take advantage of the funding for the scheme to operate here.
Wycombe Tories fail to see the huge benefits of encouraging swimming. At a time when we learn that one in four of our young people are overweight, local Conservatives have closed our beloved open air pool and refused to take part in this laudable scheme to encourage more people to swim.
I cant believe that WDC has not taken the funding for swimming. Shocking!
