Micklefield Community Fun Day
Written by morty on August 5, 2008 – 6:50 pm -The Micklefield Community Fun Day took place on Saturday, organised by local residents and the Neighbourhood Action Group.
New Liberal Democrat Councillors Chaudhary Ditta and Julia Wassell had a stall at the event to deal with any questions and casework from local residents. They also helped to fund this community event from their community budget.
Despite the poor weather many local residents came out to support the event and have fun. The Police and Fire services were on hand to show youngsters their vehicles and many local community groups ran stalls. The Steel band gave a Caribbean feel to the event and a bouncy castle was available for children (and Julia!) to release some energy.
Councillor Wassell praised local organisers and said “It shows what good community spirit we have that we kept going despite the rain.”
