I can attest to Julia's campaiging expertise, since she was instrumental in the success of the campaign to save Micklefield Library, and freely gave of her time to advise the West Wycombe Library Action Group in the early days of our own campaign to save the village library. I am delighted to welcome someone with a long pedigree in green politics, too. I remember Julia when she was a member of the Green Party. I joined the Liberal Party in 1977 precisely because it was the only significant political party espousing an environmental agenda. It is good to see that Julia has finally recognised that the Liberal Democrats offer the most effective way of putting environmental policies into effect. i can only wonder that she managed to reconcile membership of the Labour Party with her own political philosophy for so long!
