Residents in Bassetsbury Lane and Deangarden are concerned by the New gas regulator box which is disturbing sleep and waking hours with its “sissing”  sound. District council enviroment department has monitored the unit and found it to be noisy. The gas authority are now creating a soundproofed cover to reduce the noise

Cllr Trevor Snaith is liasing with residents and  council officials to ensure its rectified .  Options appear to be box it in with soundproofing, failing that relocate it — into bassetsbury allotment has been suggested

  1. Your councillors can report that Soundproofing wasnt suitable and the Environment Service has served an Abatement Notice today under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 section 80 on National Grid Gas PLC. The notice requires them to abate the likely nuisance that will recur, once the unit is turned on for the colder weather.
