Neil Timberlake has urged local residents to continue to back the Hand Back Our Hospital campaign, despite the Hospital Trusts having no need to listen to local people. Liberal Democrats have consistently demanded that taxpayer-funded bodies should be democratically accountable to the people who pay for them. The fact that the National Health Service is no longer under local control is the direct result of what the Conservatives under Thatcher and Major did to it.

Our Conservative MP and Conservative councillors and candidates ought to either apologise to Buckinghamshire voters for what they have done, or explain to us why it was such a good idea! Eight years of a Labour Government have done nothing to put democracy back into the NHS – if anything, Labour’s new plans for the NHS will make matters worse! Only a vote for Neil Timberlake and the Liberal Democrats will send a message that local people want a health service that’s responsive to their needs.
